Anxiety audio books are so beneficial. The reason being is that they are realistic. I
sometimes felt more reassured by listening than reading. Much in the same
way it is nice to talk on the phone but being there in person is better.
I sometimes listened to mine at bedtime because I usually felt more anxious
at that time. I also used my audio books while driving. Listening to someone
else speak on the topic of anxiety while driving was very soothing. While
I was suffering, just driving was very difficult, if not impossible. I
felt very anxious being stuck in traffic, in-line at the drive-thru, or
anywhere there was no quick exit.
I would play my audio book and it would help calm me. Almost, in a sense,
bring me back to reality. Then I would realize that I was fine and be able
to start to calm myself. This would allow me to continue whatever it was
I was doing without fear.
There are many situations where audio books are more convenient than books.
By now, I know that some of the information that I'm giving you may be a little
overwhelming. But as you begin your journey to a normal life again, all
this will make sense. You will soon know just what you will need in every
situation to find comfort. Before long, maybe a month, maybe a year, you
will be able to calm yourself without any books, help from anyone or anything
but yourself. Knowledge is power!
The first listing, "Pass Through Panic", is a an audio book that
I have found to be quite helpful for me personally.
About: "Pass Through Panic" -
[AUDIOBOOK] (Audio CD)
This audio book consist of eight radio lectures created in 1967 by the
late panic teacher and expert Claire Weekes. Her main points, that fear
and anxiety can be exaggerated reactions to stress and that a lot of emotional
and physical illness is due to lack of knowledge about people's normal stress
responses.
She is one of the first people who studied and wrote about anxiety and
panic disorders. This audio book gives the sufferer simple methods needed
to pass through fear, anxiety and panic.
Weekes gives the sufferer hope that there is an end to the disorder in
which they are trapped. Her techniques of acceptance and surrender show
that by passing through panic, rather than trying to stop it, you find yourself
in a place of strength, rather than one of fear and frustration.
Dr. Weekes understands the mind and feelings of what your going through.
This understanding sets the road for acceptance with her four-step method
that works in treating this disorder.
Included is a eight part radio series, 2 hours on 2 cassettes or 2 CDs.
I also have a couple of her books on my site that are amazing. They worked
very well for me. I think her caring, knowledge, and authority, put her
books at the top of the list, and a must have for anyone who suffers from
anxiety. Click here to read more about her
very helpful Anxiety books.

Reviews:
Editorial Review:
An articulate psychiatrist and neuroscience researcher uses brain imaging to group anxiety and depressive disorders into seven clusters, all which "light up" specific parts of the brain when certain conditions or patient mind-states are created. A well-done audio and an important starting point for lives that are less than they could be because of chronic depression, mood instability, and anxiety.
