Books, I have found, are also a key factor in the healing and understanding of anxiety and the symptoms that come with it. You may find that one of them will become your best friend.

When you find a book that suits you and you are in a state of panic-anxiety, or feeling the symptoms of panic-anxiety, you may find a sense of comfort simply by opening the book and beginning to read. I can honestly say that this worked very well for me.

Here is a suggestion: With every book that you open and read, I would highlight in yellow the paragraphs and sentences that are most familiar with yourself and your type of anxiety. I even kept one book by my side almost everywhere I went so when I felt anxious, I could open it to my pages saved with a bookmarker and re-read the highlighted sections. It would instantly help relax me and relieve some of my symptoms.

Another good suggestion is for you not to speed-read the books. Anxious people are known for being impatient. You want to take your time and let the material in the book help relax you.

Read the book more than once. Three or more times if you have to. The material in the book will probably be so familiar to you and your condition, that simply reading about the EXACT anxiety symptoms and situations you are experiencing may be very calming to your nerves.
