Melissa Bolona Plays Amythyst Stone In Film The Year of Spectacular Men


Actress Melissa Bolona will be portraying Amethyst stone in The Year of Spectacular Men, directed by Lea Thompson. Thompson is best known for her roles in “Back to the Future” and “Switched at Birth”.
The Year of Spectacular Men star’s Thompson’s two daughters, Madelyn Deutch and Zoey Deutch. Madelyn will portray a young woman fresh out of college who is looking for love and ends up in a number of failed relationships; her sister Zoey will portray a movie star in a stable, loving relationship with her boyfriend, played by Avan Jogia.  Melissa Bolona will appear as Amethyst Stone, the 25 year old girlfriend of the girls’ mother, portrayed by Thompson herself.
The Year of Spectacular Men aims to be a look into the soul of the millennial woman; to bring to screen their language, struggles and triumphs. The story is raw and open, which was exactly what Thompson had hoped to project in this film. The script was written by Madelyn Deutch, and is a mix of good natured humor, authentic story-telling. The movie is sure to be a hit with millennials and older generations alike.
The film was first announced in 2015, but hit some delays. The Year of Spectacular Men film is currently in post-production and is due to be finished later in 2017.
