Hi Jayy,

I am happy to answer your question but need a little more information from you. Are you saying your anxiety attacks are waking you up at 4 a.m. some nights? More details would be helpful.

Jayy, Relaxation techniques

Jayy,

Relaxation techniques (e.g. progressive relaxation, guided imagery) are one of the best things to do when you have an anxiety attack. However, if yours are occurring only just before going to sleep, then it may be helpful to determine what is triggering them. It would probably be best to work with a therapist (and a therapist can also help you learn relaxation techniques).

Other things that can be very helpful include regular aerobic exercise (such as running, brisk walking, swimming, biking), meditation, and yoga. Doing some yoga poses that are specific for anxiety and insomnia before bedtime may be very helpful.

Those are my best suggestions for you without more information. If you are living at home with your parents, I encourage you to talk to them about the anxiety you are experiencing and see if they will set up an appointment for you.
