This may seem ridiculous but over the past few months I haven't been able to tell the difference between low blood sugar and anxiety at times. Sometimes it's very clear that I have anxiety and sometimes it is also clear that I have low blood sugar, but there are times where I can't tell which one it is.

It will only be a few hours since I've eaten, I'll be working and then out of nowhere a wave of anxiousness comes over me. A friend told me that they read that low blood sugar can actually cause anxiety. Has anyone ever heard of this?

I want to get to the bottom of this because it is a different feeling than regular anxiety. I'll be walking through a grocery store and get a strange pressure in my ears and I'll start feeling slightly jittery and anxious. I can't seem to figure out what's going on.

This used to happen to me a lot because I was bad about eating regularly and eating well. When my anxiety is bad I don't have an appetite so that caught up with me and my blood sugar would start to drop off. My doctor told me that low blood sugar can cause anxiety and feelings of anxiousness. Now I make sure that I keep a protein bar on me at all times. This helps to keep my blood sugar levels normalized.

Thank you Pixie, it is good to hear that I am not alone in this because most days I feel like I am alone in a lot of my feelings about anxiety. Thank you for letting me know that you have gone through this too and for the tips that helped you get over the hump of low blood sugar. I will be keeping protein bars in my purse so I avoid this from happening again.
