How to Naturally Control Your Anxiety

If you suffer from an anxiety disorder, your doctor may have prescribed anxiety medication to help relieve your anxiety, but strong prescription drugs often come with uncomfortable side effects. If you’re looking for a way to reduce your anxiety naturally, here are 10 tips to do so.

1. Focus
By focusing on the task at hand and making sure you’re giving your attention to the moment, you’ll block out negative thoughts and behaviors.

2. Say No
If you can’t or don’t want to do something, learn to say no! Fewer obligations mean more personal time to relax and rejuvenate.

3. Control Your Life
Controlling anxiety starts with controlling your life. Live your life on your terms, don’t let your life run you.

4. Get Organized
Part of having control over your life means getting organized. Spring is here so get cleaning! Being organized and clean is an area of your life where you absolutely can control the outcome.

5. Identify Stressors
Know what people, places, or things make you anxious. Being aware and conscious of what is causing you stress will allow you to eliminate it from your life.

6. Try Some Herb

Meditation and deep breathing can help bring your awareness at the moment and relax you. Try meditating each day, even for just 10 minutes to feel a difference in your mindset.

Aromatherapy uses essential oils to relax. Try putting a few drops in lotion, the bath, or a room diffuser. Lavender, Bergamot, and Sandalwood are all good essential oils to use to ease your anxiety.

10. Change Your Diet
Eating healthfully can make a world of difference when it comes to your mental health. Incorporate fruits, vegetables, and whole grains every day, and minimize your sugar and alcohol intake.
